You never know what you'll stumble upon in and around the famous Nurburgring circuit in Germany. It may be a heavily camouflaged prototype model performing test runs like the ones we often post here on Carscoop, or in this case, a pair of privately owned cars dressed in a eye-catching police uniform (okay, most likely a vinyl wrap). The M3 Coupe and Audi S3 faux police cars appear to belong to a group called 'Ring-Police' details of which remain unknown for the time being. More photos after the jump.

Italian Police Destroy Own Lamborghini Gallardo
A Lamborghini Gallardo was destroyed after the police officer driving the supercar crashed into two parked cars. The accident took place following an exhibition in Cremona, Italy, where Italian police had the car on display.
Newspaper reports have sourced an official police statement claiming that the officer driving the Lambo swerved to avoid a car exiting a gas station. How the Mercedes-Benz A-Class wound up on top of the car is anyone's guess.
Both police officers in the car were injured, with the driver suffering a ruptured vertebra and broken ribs. The pair were taken to the hospital, and should recover.
Damages to the 5.0-liter V10 Lamborghini Gallardo were extensive. It is unclear if the car will be repaired.

All-New 2012 Ford Taurus Interceptor Police Car Revealed
The end of the line is coming soon for the Crown Victoria Police Interceptor as Ford today released the first official images of its replacement based on the latest generation Taurus sedan.
We don't have all the details yet but it is assumed that the company will most likely offer the Taurus Interceptor in two guises, a front-wheel drive model with a naturally aspirated 3.5-liter V6 and top-spec model based on the SHO with all-wheel drive and the turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 EcoBoost.
Ford, which currently controls approximately 75 percent of the police pursuit vehicle business in the U.S selling approximately 45,000 vehicles to the boys in blue, said that the Taurus-based Police Interceptor will be offered without interruption when production of the Ford Crown Victoria ends in late 2011.
We remind you that last year General Motors revealed its Police Car proposal based on the Australian Holden Statesman, a more luxurious, long-wheelbase version of the Pontiac G8 / Holden Commodore.
Called the 2011 Chevy Caprice, GM's rear-wheel drive police car will be offered with with a 355HP 6.0-liter V8.
VIDEO:BMW to Supply Carbon Motors Police Cars with Diesel Engines
BMW will be supplying diesel engines to US police car maker Carbon Motors.
Carbon Motors Corp. is a US manufacturer which exclusively builds law enforcement vehicles for police departments and government agencies in the United States. Carbon Motors has now opted to equip its vehicles with diesel engines to help reduce the CO2 emissions of law enforcement vehicles and make its product more lucrative to prospective buyers.
BMW will be supplying Carbon Motors with (inline) six-cylinder diesel engines as well as the the entire cooling and exhaust systems for the motor. The deal also includes BMW supplying the automatic transmissions to mate to the diesel powerplants.
Ian Robertson, director of Sales and Marketing at BMW AG, said that around 13,000 or 14,000 orders had already been placed for police cars for which BMW will be supplying the powertrain. Robertson said BMW will be providing the most advanced diesel technology in the world to Carbon Motors, including BMW EfficientDynamics technology which has become standard in all BMW models and improves the fuel efficiency of its vehicles.
Wiesmann Announces GT MF4-S Pricing in Geneva
For the most part, that is exactly what new customers will get. The car uses the BMW M3's 4.0-liter V8 engine producing 420 PS (309 kW / 414 hp) and up to 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque. The same engine that pushes the M3 to 100 km/h in just under 5.0 seconds gets the GT MF4-S to the mark in 4.0s.
Top speed on the newly-introduced car is a healthy 300 km/h (186 mph). Visually appealing on the outside, the car screams, "Drive me!"
The Wiesmann GT MF4-S will be on display at the Geneva Motor Show until its conclusion. The standard GT MF4 without the S designation will remain unchanged with 367 hp (270 kW / 362 hp).
Westfield iRacer Electric Vehicle Unveiled in Geneva
“The use of materials such as fabrics has limited scope for road use, but has major benefits for racing,” says Paul Faithfull, iRacer project manager. “Imagine being able to change your bodywork in a matter of minutes, with a new body stretched over the framework, changing the colour, sponsors or just effecting rapid repairs. It is also extremely light compared to almost all alternative materials.”
The concept weighs in at 600kilograms, and it is 3.6 meters long. There will be a rear-wheel-drive layout and a 80kW electric motor with 1,000Nm of torque. The 0-100km/h time is under 5 seconds and the top speed is 177km/h.
NLV Quant Preliminary Details Released in Geneva
Set to be production ready next year, the Quant was designed to prove "cutting-edge supercars can combine speed, comfort and enjoyment with environmental integrity." It features two different battery systems ("a long-life metal-air battery or a rechargeable redox flow cell"), four torque-vectoring electric motors, a full carbon fiber chassis, and a revolutionary thin-film coated photovoltaic body.
The latter converts light into electricity to supply the operating electronics and the battery. While it's a bit technical, NLV says the coating has "an average photovoltaic conversion efficiency of 38%, depending on ambient conditions, and a peak performance of over 50%." More importantly, the company believes they can tune the material's absorption characteristics to create multiple layers with their own unique absorption frequency. As impressive as this is, NLV estimates the film will have a degradation coefficient of only 5-6% over 20 years.
So what does all this mean? Power, efficiency, and speed. The electric motors produce a combined 600 kW (805 hp / 816 PS) and 1500 Nm (1107 lb-ft) of torque, which allows the 1680 kg (3704 lb) Quant to accelerate from 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in an astonishing 2.8 seconds and hit a top speed of 377 km/h (234 mph).
Besides the sci-fi technology, the Quant is stylish and luxurious. The cabin features alcantara upholstery, LED lighting, carbon fiber trim, and individual seating for four.
Although Koenigsegg is no longer involved in the project, look for more information to be released later this year.
Zagato reveals Alfa Romeo TZ3 Corsa race car
Italian coach builder Zagato has unveiled the new TZ3 Corsa at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este taking place this weekend in Cernobbio, Italy.
Following the teaser, Zagato has released two new images of the Alfa Romeo TZ3 Corsa. The TZ3 takes inspiration from the Alfa TZ and TZ2 models.
Alfa Romeo’s TZ3 Corsa is a one-off racer car which has been built for an unnamed German.
There is a mono shell carbon fibre tubular chassis, lightweight aluminium for the body and a tubular frame.
Riding on 18-inch wheels, with 245/645/R18 Pirelli PZero tires at the front and 285/645/R18 at the rear, the TZ3 Corsa does the 0 to 100 km/h sprint in less than 3.5 seconds and can reach a top speed of over 300 km/h.
Zagato has added a V8 engine to the mix, so this means speed to match the look.
